The association has partnered with American Heart Society (2004, 2005) to bring free annual blood screening, diabetic testing, high blood pressure check, as well as useful information on health and lifestyle. We have volunteered some of our meeting time to helping Books for Africa in partnership with the Association of Nigerian Engineers in Minnesota to arranged and packaged texts books for schools in Nigeria.
Our biggest event is participation in the national convention of all descendant of Akwa Ibom State origin. This event is held once in a year within the continental United States. The event promotes community building, and development, diversity, education etc. Participants gain useful knowledge on networking, and other professional development. New Endeavors:

Akwa Ibom State is one of the 36 states in Nigeria, located in the South-South geo-political zone with Uyo as the capital city. The state was created out of Cross River State on September 23, 1987. Akwa Ibom state is a multi-ethnic state of people from Ibibio, Anang, Oron, Eket, Ibeno, etc. The state is rich in natural resources and is ranked the third largest crude oil producer in Nigeria. The state slogan is "The Land of Promise". - Date of Birth: Created on September 23, 1987 from the former Cross River State.
